About Our Founder – Charity Agyekum
Charity Nana Adjoa Anane Agyekum, affectionately known as Char, is the visionary behind CharBites. With a Master’s degree in Project Management and a lifelong passion for food, Char blends her professional expertise with her love for authentic flavors.
Her culinary inspiration runs deep—rooted in the traditions of her mother and grandmother, Akua Nyamekye, who owned the iconic Dimlight Restaurant in Kumasi, Ghana. Growing up surrounded by rich Ghanaian culture and soulful cooking, Char developed a mission: to share the tastes of Africa, the Caribbean, Latino, and American cuisine with the world.
Through CharBites, she has created more than just a place to eat—it’s a celebration of heritage, flavor, and community. Every dish is made with the same warmth and care that once filled her family’s kitchen, ensuring that each customer feels right at home.
